Andrew Tang is a managing director of DFJ DragonFund. He has experience in both operation and investment in high-tech companies in a wide variety of sectors, especially in TMT hardware, advanced materials, and clean technology. Mr. Tang has over 15 years of operating, R&D, investment banking and investing experience in the high-technology space. Mr. Tang led and managed investments in Miartech, Mobim Tech, Huaxun Micro, AltoBeam, Rotohog, YeePay, Broadbus (MOT), Imago Scientific, Zettacom (IDTI), NuTool (ASMI), and MontaVista Software. Most recently, he was a partner and member of the investment committee at Infineon Ventures. Prior to Infineon Ventures, he was an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston s technology group in Palo Alto. He worked on the Magma IPO (LAVA), as well as numerous M&A transactions including Cyras/Ciena. Before CSFB, Mr. Tang was a senior engineer and marketing manager at Intel Corporation. He was responsible for chip design as well as market enabling for the Pentium and Itanium processors. Mr. Tang is a frequent guest lecturer in the areas of entrepreneurship and clean technology at the Insead Business School, China Europe International Business School, and the Shanghai University of Finance & Economics. Mr. Tang holds an MBA from the Wharton School, an MSEE from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BSEE from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Tang also holds one U.S. patent in silicon germanium thin film materials.
